The BASF (Guangdong) Integrated Base Project is the first wholly foreign-owned project in China’s heavy chemical industry, and represents BASF’s largest overseas investment to date.

Located in the Donghai Island Petrochemical Industrial Park in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, the project carries a total investment of approximately €10 billion and is independently constructed and operated by BASF. Once completed, the site will become BASF’s third-largest production base globally—following only Ludwigshafen in Germany and Antwerp in Belgium.

The new integrated base will include a steam cracker capable of producing 1 million tons of ethylene annually, along with downstream units focusing on petrochemical byproducts, specialty chemicals, and engineered plastics.

GoLead Intelligent’s SID‑40 Series Power Transfer Devices have been successfully deployed across the project’s 220 kV, 110 kV, and 35 kV power systems, contributing to safe and stable power switching throughout the site.
